Beginners & Non Member Helpers
Thanks to all members who voluntarily help beginners and visitors get started.  However, before letting anyone operate their transmitter, we all need to verify that that individual is an AMA member.

Chalk Line

Some recent suggestions received have to do with safety.  One issue was perhaps the need to provide safety fence or netting at each pilot station.  After reviewing the matter, it appears the suggestion stems from aircraft being landed, or flown too close to the pilot stations.  It was decided that the near edge of the bermuda runway needed to be re-established.  Initially, the runway edge was quite obvious, but with the bermuda grass growth between the pilot stations and the runway, the runway edge is not easily identified.  So, we have begun a regular treatment with a chalk line along the runway edge and emphasize that all landings, takeoffs and flying should be at or beyond that chalk line.

GMA Live Camera System
The live video cameras seem to now be operating pretty smoothly.  It is suggested that instead of using your internet browser to access the cameras, you instead use that Video Server E utility.  Details can be found at http://www.gmarc.com/gmacameras .  Also, when viewing the videos, please do not experiment with the Play or Record buttons as these could disable the live views until some reset action is taken.

Treasury Report

The GMA current treasury (bank account) stands at a balance of $34,491.99.  $31,972.28 of this is in a money market account, earning over $100 per month.

GMA Board Changes

In an effort to provide expanded coverage at the field for overseeing safety and policy issues, the safety officer positions have been eliminated and the Board has been increased with two additional members.  Details will be announced upon completion of this action.
